Mt Kaala Coffee

Kona coffee is Hawaii's most famous bean. It comes from the "Kona" Region of the Big Island of Hawaii. Unlike the other islands which have one main farm, the Big Island has over 650 small farms. All coffee there is hand picked. We do a light/medium roast on this "fancy" size bean which makes for a really full bodied coffee w/ a remarkable sweet taste. Rich in flavor w/ no acidity or bitterness.

Waialua coffee is grown on Oahu's famous North Shore, surfing capitol of the world, & also home to our roasting company. The farm is owned by Dole Fruit & the size is about 200 acres so the coffee is machine picked. We use a bean from this farm called a "Natural Process". With this type of bean, the farm allows the coffee cherry to dry on the tree similar to a raisin. The bean absorbs part of the fruit giving it distinctive characteristics. We do a medium/dark roast on this coffee which produces a heavy body w/ a nice earthy/woody taste, rich flavor & smooth taste, low in acidity, no bitterness.

Molokai‎ coffee grows in the center of the island of Molokai. It is a larger farm, over 200 acres so the coffee is machine picked. We use a bean from here called a "Peaberry". A peaberry is a coffee bean that does not split into two halves. every coffee around the world has a percentage of the crop that is peaberry. Unlike other countries that blend all sizes together, Hawaiian coffees are sorted according to size so we see peaberries sold separately here. We do a light/medium roast on this coffee which produces a full rich body & a distinctive sweet taste w/ chocolaty undertones. No acidity or bitterness. A really nice cup.

The island of Maui has a few farms, we purchase our coffees from the MauiGrown Farm. Like the Waialua Coffee we use, this bean is also a Natural Process. It is a harder & denser bean than the other we use so it stands up to a darker roast. Roasting the wrong bean darker produces a bitter & acidic coffee. We do a medium/dark roast on this coffee which produces a nice full body w/ a strong but very smooth taste. Low in acidity w/ no bitterness.

The island of Kauai has one of the largest coffee farms in the world. Their coffee is also machine picked. We use a "Washed" coffee from this farm. Washed means the bean has been processed when the cherry is ripe & bright red. We do a medium/dark roast on this coffee which produces a mellow body w/ a smooth taste, no acidity or bitterness.

The same espresso blend we use in our coffee shops. Rich & smooth w/ no bitterness. Designed for the espresso machine, it will produce an impressive "crema" on each shot. Makes a wonderful drip coffee as well.

A unique blend of 3 different world class coffees w/ three different roasts, light, medium, & dark. The result is a rich & complex taste that is really smooth tasting. Features a nice bean from the island of Kauai.

A light/medium roast blend that features Waialua Coffee which grows here on the North Shore. Full body, rich flavor & smooth taste. No acidity or bitterness.

A darker blend that features Kona coffee. Full heavy body w/ no acidity or bitterness. Since it is a darker roast it has less caffeine & makes a nice evening coffee.

A darker blend that features Maui coffee. Great aroma, strong taste but very smooth & full bodied.

Paniolos are the legendary Hawaiian Cowboys. Our darkest blend, featuring Molokai Coffee. Full bodied w/ fruity undertones & a really smooth taste. No bitterness or acidity. A really nice cup.

Our special blend of Decaf coffees. A surprisingly wonderful decaf w/ a great aroma, medium body & smooth taste.
